James Bond producers are reportedly on the lookout for an iconic henchman -- in the vein of classic baddies Oddjob and Jaws.
Director Sam Mendes is currently developing the sequel following the critical and commercial success of Skyfall -- which grossed over $1 billion worldwide.
A leaked casting call, courtesy of Bond fan site MI6, apprently shows that the filmmaker is looking for a physcially imposing actor who will be involved in fight scenes with the Ian Fleming’s spy, once again played by actor Daniel Craig.
Here is an excert from the report:
Casting has begun for the main assassin, with the search specifically focussed on someone extremely physically fit and over 6 2.
Whoever wins the role will have several altercations with Daniel Craig's 007 throughout the film and also a driving sequence.
Former sports athletes will be under consideration along with anyone "very unusual".
The site also insists that the working name for the character is Hinx, although that will almost certainly change.
Clearly Mendes is looking for someone who has a memorable and imposing appearance. Also if the report is accurate, it would suggest that the script and characters for Bond 24 have not yet been finalized.
Lea Seydoux is being considered for a role in the film, following her excellent performance in the Palme d’Or-winning Blue is the Warmest Colour.
Ralph Fiennes and Naomie Harris will also reprise their roles from the previous film.
Bond 24 will hit screens in November 2015; stay tuned for more news.
