The paint was barely dry on Cosplayers’ faces, and Hall H wasn’t even open yet, but Marvel turned Comic-Con on its head with a huge poster reveal of Ant-Man, along with some Avengers: Age of Ultron artwork, providing proof positive that, in spite of its recent directorial shakeup, it’s full steam ahead.
EW had the exclusive. With Edgar Wright (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World) pulling out of the project after bring the driving force to bring it to reality since 2006, and the subsequent hiring of Peyton Reed (Down With Love) to take over, Marvel acted fast this Comic-con to assure the fans that AntMan wasn’t diminishing from the scene. The film, which Stars Michael Douglas as Dr. Hank Pym, whose ground breaking shrinking suit is stolen by a thief named Scott Lang, played by Paul Rudd. Rudd will find that, after being able to communicate with ants through the suit, he should do more than just living a life of crime.
The poster features both Douglas and Rudd in profile, with Rudd riding atop of an ant, a la Optimus Prime and Grimlock.
In addition, Marvel Studios released new posters from Avengers: Age of Ultron artwork, featuring Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, and Scarlet Witch battling an army of Ultrons. We believe more artwork will be released of Thor, Hawkeye, Quicksilver, and possibly Nick Fury, and will likely make an epic giant poster (see the first one from 2010 at Screen Rant)!
The Avengers: Age of Ultron wraps up Phase: Two on May 1, 2015, while Ant-Man kicks off Phase: Three on July 17, 2015.
