First Look at Henry Cavill in Batman v Superman Plus Several More Villains Rumored

A little while ago, we finally got our first look at Batman from Zack Snyder’s upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and now we get our first look at Henry Cavill as Clark Kent and Superman. The image of him wearing the blue suit comes courtesy of USA Today.

Going by that image, looks like Warner Bros. is going to continue the darker, edgier take on DC Comics. Check out the two pictures of Cavill in costume below!

He looks… exactly like he did in Man of Steel. I don’t think that anyone will be shocked by that and generally I don’t like costumes being redesigned every time we get a new sequel to a superhero movie. The 90′s era Batman movies were the worst offenders of this although I did appreciate the redesign of Spider-Man’s costume for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 to make it look closer to the comic book version.

Snyder also had a few things to say regarding pitting Batman against Superman:

It's never really been done and it's kinda cool. You can talk all you want about other superhero movies, but it's Batman and Superman, let's just be honest. I don't know how you get bigger than that.

Suffice it to say there is a 'v' in between their names, to keep it from being a straight 'versus' movie, even in the most subtle way.

If Latino Review’s recent rumor is true, then Snyder may be referencing all of the other villains Batman and Superman will be facing off against in Dawn of Justice.

LR is reporting that we’ll be getting a lot more villains in Batman v Superman than just Lex Luthor. With the amount of Justice League characters they’re introducing, it should follow that WB would also want to do the same with villains.

Here’s a list and description of each of the new antagonists:

• Victor Zsasz – A Gotham City serial killer who usually kills with a knife. He keeps a tally of all his kills by carving it into his body.
• Morgan Edge – He usually appears in DC Comics as a media mogul or pundit. In Dawn of Justice, he’s apparently Lexcorp’s public relations officer who is introduced as an opponent for Lois Lane in a television talk show.
• David Cain – In the comics, he’s an associate of Ra's al Ghul and of the League of Assassins. The name Ra’s should sound familiar as Liam Neeson played him in Batman Begins. In the comics, Cain actually helped train a young Bruce Wayne. None of that is really brought up in LR who only says that he’ll meet up with Luthor to plan an assassination.
• Amanda Waller – She’s a stern senator who doesn’t trust Superman and, in fact, comes up with some sort of a counter measure against him.
• ??? – The final antagonist who may appear in the film hasn’t been announced or cast but is said to be extremely powerful. Darkseid has been rumored to be the main antagonist of Justice League so my best guess would be him.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice premieres May 6, 2016.
