Nan Pendarvis
Born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Nan has embarked on a journey that has led her down many roads of life. Most of her formative years have been spent in Oklahoma and although she has lived a good many years on the west coast, she still considers Oklahoma home.
Her true passions are creating and teaching the visual arts. With over twenty years experience as both a fine and graphic artist she brings a unique perspective to the classroom. To her, the greatest joy she has ever known is creating art and helping others to learn how to do the same.
She received a Bachelor of Art in Art Education from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and a Master of Fine Art in 2D Design and Printmaking from the University of Oklahoma. She has taught at the collegiate level for 16 years and is also a certified Grumbacher Instructor where she teaches art courses at Michaels. Her work has been exhibited in the U.S., Scotland, China and Japan.
Her knowledge with regard to both the traditional and non-traditional arts is extensive. She has written and taught courses in both the traditional and digital arts to include such courses as Drawing, Figure Drawing, Painting, Mixed Media, Fundamental of 2D Design, Fundamentals of 3D Design, Color Theory, Perspective, Digital Imaging, Digital Illustration, and Character Design just to name a few.
Her goal as an art educator is to continue to provide her students with the means to explore and discover their own artistic vision. To her “Teaching” Is all about giving something back.
