I was born in the village Kazayak, Gagauz Yeri, in the Republic of Moldova. There, I finished high school and enrolled in an art school program. With little training in Art Techniques and Art History, I decided to enroll in the Moldavian SSR State Committee for Vocational Education of Komrat, for a two – year’s program as Interior decorator. Afterward, I attended the Azerbaijan State Art College Diploma Program to pursue the degree of Teacher of Art. Nevertheless, war and the unstable situation in Azerbaijan made me quit and I went back to my country. In Moldova, I applied for a scholarship of the Turkish government to pursue studies abroad. Fortunately I passed the examination and was accepted in the Visual Art Program at the Mimar Sinan University, in Istanbul, where I graduated with a B.A. in 1996. In the summer of the same year I went to London where I worked as a commercial artist. Life took me to Canada in 1998 where I decided to establish myself as an independent artist. In 2011 I went back to Mimar Sinan University and completed a Master’s degree, which was awarded in 2014. My thesis is about conceptualism in still life in the 20th century. I have participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions. My most recent one-man exhibition took place in Montgomery’s Inn with a theme on “The Vanishing Great Outdoors: Toronto Landscapes “, a series of paintings on oil on canvas with “alla-prima” technique and created plein-air. My art captures the green outdoors surrounding the Great Toronto Area, which is in danger of disappearing under the relentless wave of real estate developers.
