I was born in Toledo, OH. I have always loved to draw. I discovered I had the ability to draw around the age of 5. As a child, I discovered comic books and new almost immediately what profession I wanted to do when I grew up: draw "Spider-Man" comics! As time went on, my comic book collection grew and expanded with different titles and publishers. I also discovered that there was more to art than drawing comics and that one could actually go to art school or take art in college. When I graduated high school, I joined the US Army to qualify for the G.I. Bill so I could go to college or art school. I ended up staying in the Army for a little over 12 years and earned an honorable discharge in 1998. However, instead of enrolling in college, I went to work in Saudi Arabia as a Telecommunications contractor. Even though my plans had changed, I still had the desire to go to college and earn an art degree. Finally, in 2010 I graduated from the Art Center Design College of Tucson, AZ (re-named Southwest University of Visual Arts) with a Bachelor of Arts in Illustration and minor in painting degree. After graduation, I went on to teach art at Compass High School for a school year while actively pursuing art as a profession.
