Alice Melo was born in Kingston, Ontario to Portuguese parents and grew up in a loud, loving and inspirational family. Always creative, she loved drawing and losing herself in art but it was not until mid-twenties that she became more involved in the development of her growing passion to paint. Whilst bringing up her two young boys and working a full time job, Alice took several drawing courses from well-known artists within her community and in snatched moments, often at night, she developed her craft. Recently, Alice has developed a strong online presence within social media and is selling her paintings and prints far and wide. Her work is hanging in Martello Alley, a small, eclectic art gallery in Kingston and her reputation is highly regarded within the community. Alice continues to take regular painting and drawing courses, often from superb and inspirational teachers online. ?
