How To Get Great Pictures Every Time

In the age of the internet, it’s now more important than ever to know how to take a great picture. However, getting a pic that looks great may not always feel easy or simple to do. That doesn't mean, though, that you should necessarily feel discouraged. With some tips and tricks you can take your photos from blah to beautiful.

Know That Good Posture Is Key

One of the most important factors in being photogenic is having good posture. No matter how on-point your make up is or how cute your outfit, if your shoulders are slumping or you're hunched in an awkward position, no one will notice. When someone is about to snap a photo, check in with your spine and make sure that you are standing or sitting up straight. Also, the best way to make sure your posture is always good is to work on it, in general. This can be done by doing exercises like yoga which naturally improve posture. Additionally, supporting your workouts with things like Thrive Reviews can be helpful, as well.

Know Your Angles

In addition to being aware of your posture, you need to be aware of your angles, too. The same person can look tall, lean and thin in one picture, and then wide and short in the next picture, even if they were only taken seconds apart, all because of angles. If you're not aware of how to work with your angles, taking some time to look in the mirror and study how you appear can be a good place to start. Additionally, an angle that is almost universally flattering for your face is a 3/4's angle. This is where your face is neither facing the camera directly, nor faced to the side, but somewhere in between.

Be Aware of Lighting

Lighting can have a major impact on how your photos turn out. Dim or dark lighting can make your photos appear muddy and may even make it difficult to tell what the picture is of. Well-lit photos, on the other hand, will automatically look better, more polished and more professional. When it comes to working with lighting, natural light will often produce much better photos than indoor lighting. Also, to stand out in your pictures, make sure you turn your face towards the light, and not away from it.

Don't Be Scared To Try Something New

Unless you're comfortable in front of the camera and take a lot of pictures, you may only have a couple of go-to poses. While this is fine, it may get a little boring after a certain point. If you want to take interesting photos, one of your best bets is to expand the kinds of poses you do, and step outside of your comfort zone. Some may think they're better off sticking to what they know because they don't feel that they would look good from new angles, but the truth is that there are a lot of new poses that could look great, it's just a matter of finding them.

Take Lots of Photos

Another way to ensure that you get a great picture is to take lots of them. The more photos you take, the clearer of an idea you can get of what angles work best for you. Also, the bottom line is that you have more options to pick from and also higher odds of taking a photo that looks great. Even professionals take many, many photos for this reason. Sometimes the picture you almost didn't take turns out to be the best one.

A Last Note

With the popularity of social media, being able to take a good picture has become more important than ever. However, if you're not comfortable in front of the camera, this may feel stressful to think about. The good news is, though, that with a few tips and a little practice it can be easy to take great photos every time.
