9 Ways To Live a Luxurious Lifestyle on a Budget

Do you have champagne tastes on a beer budget? If so, the good news is there are ways you can give your lifestyle a luxury upgrade without breaking the bank.

1. Treat Yourself to Small Luxury Items

You do not have to go on a 3-month European vacation to feel like you are living the high-life. Treat yourself to small luxuries such as a spa day or some nice skincare products. Read these Beverly Hills MD reviews, if you need some ideas for upgrading your skincare routine.

2. Cook at Home

Restaurants and convenience foods are easy choices but usually are not very healthy or good for your bank account. Save some cash by cooking most of your meals yourself. You can then use the money you save to either treat yourself to the occasional meal at a fancy restaurant or spend it on other luxury items. As your cooking skills improve, you may even be able to cook those fancy dinners yourself.

3. Purchase Some Cheap Art

One of the things that make fancy homes look fancy is tasteful art hanging on the walls. You will never achieve this look by purchasing mass-produced art at your local big box store. Instead, look for deals on unique, handcrafted art pieces at yard sales, estate sales, local artists and Etsy

4. Buy Yourself Some Nice Luggage

If you want to class up your vacation, splurge on a nice set of luggage. You can sometimes find very nice luggage at affordable prices on Craigslist, eBay, estate sales or discount stores such as TJ Maxx and Marshalls. If you are lucky, you may even find a gently used set at a local thrift store.

5. Take Advantage of Free Birthday Promotions

Nearly every major restaurant chain out there will reward you for signing up for their loyalty program with something free on your birthday. Most of the offers require some sort of purchase, but there are still plenty of opportunities to treat yourself on the cheap with free desserts, BOGO entrees and other perks. A few retailers are also getting on board the free stuff for your birthday bandwagon, so be sure to take advantage of any offers at your favorite stores.

6. Curate Your Wardrobe

Most people waste a lot of money purchasing clothing they never or seldom end up wearing. Do not impulse buy. Carefully select high-quality items that you can go to over and over again. You can save a lot of money on gently used designer labels by shopping used clothing stores or purchasing online. Thrift stores often have very nice clothing items for just a few dollars, though you may have to do some searching to find them.

7. Buy Nice Sheets

There are few experiences in life more luxurious than sleeping on really nice sheets. Do your homework and watch for sales. The most expensive sheets are not always the best. Do not be fooled by thread count claims on the packaging. You may want to rotate out your nice sheets with more basic sets to preserve their lifespan.

8. Stick to Your Budget

If you do not make a budget and stick to it, you will probably waste money that you could be spending on upgrading your lifestyle. If you find yourself frequently wondering where all your money went at the end of the month, you probably need to revise or create a budget plan and hold yourself accountable for following it.

9. Shop Thrift Stores

Sometimes when wealthy people decide to get rid of their stuff they donate it to thrift stores. You can find lots of hidden treasures if you are willing to do some digging.

These tips may not provide you with the lifestyle of the rich and famous, but they can help you add some occasional luxury to your everyday routine. It is good to be fiscally responsible, but do not be afraid to occasionally treat yourself to something nice.
