Banksy is an anonymous graffite artist, said to to be a "political activist" due to his dark humour. Across New York, several Art pieces have appeared over night with no clue as to who is behind it. Banksy's art work touched on many subjects, especially in the media and on contraversial topics.

As an Art Student I find myself inspired by Banksy and his creative art. I have taken it upon myself to go ahead and do my own Banksy Inspired Art Project!
I began with a stencil that says "Please Recycle!", with garbage and such hanging off of the tree. I chose some scrapbook paper to put my sign on.

Because this is a stencil and part of the Banksy Project, I had to use spray paint as the medium, but I suggest to anyone, USE PAINT! PAINT YOUR STENCIL IN! Not only is it toxic to the environment and yourself, but I had to go out with THAT MUCH SNOW ON THE TABLE, and do this. In Crocs. The horror.

I did several, some of which showed up really great, and some of which... didnt.

Overall it was a great project. I went around my school and put these up on about seven garbage cans. I did not stick around for too long to see if anyone noticed, or paid it any mind... But it felt great to have my artwork hanging up all around my school and being completely anonymous.
Feel free to click on any "Banksy" that is highlighted for it to take you to some links that I thought was representing some of his great art work and other blogs and articles about him!
