HUNTINGTON, NY -- thalo, artist community, is pleased to sponsor The Grumbacher Achievement Award at the Heckscher Museum of Art upcoming Long Island Biennial on August 16th – November 30th. The Biennial is a juried exhibition featuring work by artists of Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Inaugurated in 2010, the Long Island Biennial offers Long Island's contemporary artists an opportunity to show their work to a broad public, deepening the connections among artists and between artists and the communities where they live.
The exhibition comprises over 50 works, selected from 310 entries by jurors Dan Christoffel, Artist-in-Residence, Adjunct Professor, LIU Post; Renato Danese, Danese Corey, New York; and Helen A. Harrison, Director, Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center, East Hampton. Paintings, sculpture, photography, works on paper, and mixed media work encompassing diverse styles and subject matter are included in the exhibition. All submitted entries will be posted on the Long Island Biennial Website Gallery, providing an overview of current artistic practice on the Island.
