Interview with legendary character actor is latest in thaloTV’s ongoing series profiling inspiring people in the global art community.
thalo Magazine is pleased to present the latest installment of its thaloTV series of video interviews—an intimate visit with famed character actor Burt Young. Young recently welcomed thaloTV inside his New York art studio where he discussed his lifelong interest in painting as another form of personal expression that compliments his highly successful acting career.
Young has been acting in movies and on television since 1970, following years of tutoring by famed acting coach Lee Strasberg. He’s appeared in almost 90 movies and dozens of TV shows and TV movies over the years. His greatest fame, of course, came in the six Rocky films.
But for most of his life, Young has also been expressing himself through paint and canvas—creating hundreds of deeply personal works that have been exhibited across the country in recent years. Young’s passion for art, and his advice for others who may wish to explore their artistic impulses, were explored in-depth during his visit with thaloTV.
The Burt Young interview is the latest in an ongoing series of personality-driven interviews that thalo Magazine offers the artistic community through its multimedia channel, thaloTV. The series focuses both on leading lights in various fields whose artistic creations and passion are part of their work and their personal self-expression. Other recent interview subjects include production designer Kirk Petruccelli, photojournalist David Burnett, graffiti artist Risk, model/actress Samantha Lockwood, Gensler Global Architecture, Design, Planning and Consulting Firm, set designer Lydia Marks, costume designer Alex Kosztowny, and many others.
