Netflix and Marvel are rolling out hints teases for their second joint Marvel Cinematic Universe television series Jessica Jones. First we had an animated teaser, followed by a second clip that was live-action, but didn’t show star Krysten Ritter's face as the title character.
Now a third clip has premiered, and while we still don’t get a look at Ritter’s face, we do get a better idea of what she’s capable of. Check out the teaser below!
Daredevil currently stands as my favorite superhero television show ever. It may even be my favorite MCU property to date and that includes the Iron Man and Avengers films. While we wait to see if the series can keep up the level of quality, we get to ask another question: Can Marvel and Netflix keep up that level of quality among all The Defenders series?
Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige even recently commented that the shows and movies may crossover soon, per Collider.
Back to the Jessica Jones series... So far we don’t have much to go on other than two live action teaser clips and an animated sequence but it does have me very excited. That’s not to mention Netflix and Marvel continue to attract an impressive cast with Rachael Taylor, Carrie-Anne Moss, Mike Colter, and David Tennant appearing alongside Ritter. Rosario Dawson is also reprising her role as Claire Temple from Daredevil giving both series some connective tissue.
How much of the events of Daredevil will affect Jessica Jones is unknown but there should at least be some mention of it in the upcoming series, especially with Dawson making an appearance.
Meanwhile, Colter will reprise his role from Jessica Jones in the self titled Luke Cage series at some point in the future which will be followed by Iron Fist. All four series will end up in a crossover event series called The Defenders in much the same way as Avengers did on the big screen.
Jessica Jones debuts on Netflix on November 20th – here is an official synopsis:
Ever since her short-lived stint as a Super Hero ended in tragedy, Jessica Jones has been rebuilding her personal life and career as a hot-tempered, sardonic, badass private detective in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. Plagued by self-loathing, and a wicked case of PTSD, Jessica battles demons from within and without, using her extraordinary abilities as an unlikely champion for those in need… especially if they’re willing to cut her a check.
