It’s been 36 years since director Sam Raimi unleashed Evil Dead on audiences, and introduced one of the most unlikely heroes in Bruce Campbell’s Ash Williams. From there, we got the sequel/remake in Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn, and the third film in the series, Army of Darkness, which brought the character back in time to the Medieval Ages.
Since that third film, fans have been clamoring for a fourth, and it took a long time but what we got was a remake instead in 2013. However, fans wanted to see Campbell back in the role of Ash, since he was what made the original movies so great. In a surprise announcement at 2014's San Diego Comic-Con, Raimi announced they were making not a sequel, but a 10-episode season of Ash Vs Evil Dead on Starz that will continue the story from where Ash left off, 30 years later.
But like the previous sequels, Ash is going to need help if he wants to make it out of the situation alive. In this new behind-the-scenes featurette, we’re introduced to his two sidekicks: The unimpressed Kelly Maxwell played by Dana DeLorenzo, and the hero worshipping Pablo played by Ray Santiago.
In a concurrent storyline we have a police officer named Amanda Fisher, played by Jill Marie Jones, who investigates the paranormal going ons that she stumbles upon. At some point she befriends Ruby, played by Lucy Lawless of Xena: Warrior Princess fame, who is hell bent on finding Ash.

Possible spoilers to follow!
While both Pablo and Kelly seem to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, it seems like Amanda may have a connection to the deadites which may explain their interest in her… or I could be reading too much into the line “we know who you are.”
Ruby is the far more mysterious character who is following Ash and knows who he is and what the deadites are. While it’s possible she’s a brand new character, I have a theory that she’s none other than Annie Knowby from Evil Dead 2. That would explain how she knows who he is and what the deadites are quite nicely. She may have been stabbed in the back and left for dead but she may not have actually been dead.
Ash Vs. Evil Dead will premiere on Starz on October 31, 2015.
