Using Creativity to Showcase Your Fashion

Looking stylish and creative all comes down to the little things about an outfit: how you style it, how you wear it, what you add to an outfit to make it different, and how to just make a basic outfit a little less basic. If you are a person who puts on a basic T-shirt and jeans and you kind of want to add a little bit more style, fun, flare or personality to your outfit, but you just don't know what to do, this article is for you.

Scrunched Sleeves

There's such an appeal to the effortlessly style look, that kind of messy put together look. As ridiculous as this might sound, having the perfect scrunched up sleeves is going to give you that vibe. Keep your scrunched up sleeves staying scrunched up and make sure they don't fall throughout the day. Basically, the hack is to take an elastic hair tie, put it at the crook of your elbow, and then role and scratch the fabric around the hair tie. Get the perfect scrunch, and then the elastic will hold the scrunch in place. You can use a bit of the excess fabric to just hide that elastic. Make it look nice and low key, and there you have it: the perfect scrunched sleeve look.

Cuffed Sleeves

Cuffing the sleeves of your T-shirt is the perfect detail to add to a basic T-shirt because it gives a more fitted and flattering look to just a very basic T-Shirt. It helps you look more intentional and more polished, just like Courtney Sarofim looks in many of her outfits.

Cuffed Jeans

In the same vein of cutting your shirtsleeves, cuff your jeans. Cuffing the bottom of your jeans draws attention to your shoes, and adds a little bit of height to your legs. It is great for when you're wearing very cute shoes and you want to just show it off a little bit. This tip is great, especially if you're short, because cuffing your jeans adds just a little bit of height and makes your legs look longer. It’ll show a little bit of skin, giving the illusion of some faux height.

Layered Cami

As you have probably noticed, 90s fashion has made a huge comeback, and it is everywhere. Flannels, grunge, skinny sunglasses, lots of dental, and apparently even flip phones are making a comeback. Now, if you love 90s fashion, a trend that you can incorporate to basic pieces in your wardrobe is to layer and cami over a T-shirt. Some people love this trend and some people don't. This layering technique can work for either a cami shirt or a Cami dress. Layering two basic pieces like this is just kind of something fun and different to do.  Start off by having one of the pieces being neutral. Having one of these pieces neutral makes it a lot more simple and straightforward.

Tuck It

This is another tip that is great for if you're short, because tucking your shirt shows a little bit of the jeans. It also gives the appearance of longer legs.

Knot Tie Your Top

Button ups are a piece that typically look serious and formal. But if you want to switch up the vibe of a typically more business type of top, try knotting up the bottom of your button up. So by knotting up the bottom, it adds a little bit of personality and a little bit of casual miss to a typically formal top.

The typical way of knotting a button up always gives this weird gaff or kind of folds up, and it just looks weird. Take the left side and bring it over and under. Knot it and ensure there are no gaps, holes, or weird rolling up with the fabric.

Creative, stylish and chic all comes down to the little things about an outfit. That's all about those little subtle things, like certain styling techniques or accessories. These little tips and tricks can help you to showcase your fashion creativity and feel more stylish.
